Join Ortygia RestaurantSlow Food Greater Sarasota, and Transition Sarasota for a very special farm to table dinner and facilitated discussion with Eat Local Week 2016 keynote speaker, Douglas Gayeton of The Lexicon of Sustainability. This is a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation with Douglas and others who are making a real difference for local food and sustainability right here in Southwest Florida.

Ortygia is a four-star restaurant dedicated to presenting you with the finest in authentic Sicilian food. Nestled on a quiet street in the Village of the Arts, this romantic hideaway offers the perfect atmosphere for a special Eat Local Week dinner.

This three-course meal, prepared by Suncoast celebrity chef, Gaetano “Guy” Cannata, will be 90% fresh, local, and in-season. Menu is subject to change to ensure the freshest, ripest, and most delicious ingredients. A glass of wine or bottle of sparkling water will be served with the meal.

Two seatings: 5:30 or 8:00pm. Pre-registration is required. The cost for this event is $45 per person, plus tax and tip. You can also pre-order a copy of Douglas' book, Local: The New Face of Food and Farming in America, at $10 off the cover price.
