Come celebrate the successful completion of the sixth season of Transition Sarasota's Suncoast Gleaning Project with free local food and drink on the third floor of the HuB

From October 2015 through June 2016, a record 141 individuals donated 1,262 hours of their time to harvest more than 29,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables for All Faiths Food Bank. Produce was provided this season by four local farms (Jessica's Organic Farm, Honeyside Farms, ALL Blueberries, and Enza Zaden) and its total included the program's first-ever residential fruit tree gleaning.

Beyond simply attending, anyone who wants to actively participate in this fun and family-friendly event is welcome to do so by signing up to speak briefly about their gleaning-related experiences, submitting photographs to be included in a slideshow that will run throughout the morning, and offering to bring a dish to share. This appreciation breakfast will also serve as the launch for a new volunteer-based committee focused on expanding and improving the Suncoast Gleaning Project.

If you'd like to contribute to this event in any way or are unable to attend but are interested in joining the Gleaning Committee, please contact Transition Sarasota Board President and committee co-chair Roger Landry at roger@transitionsrq.org or (941) 587-3222.
