A free, informal tour of the collection of 75 mature tropical fruit trees in Palma Sola Botanical Park, across the street from Robinson Preserve in west Bradenton. The collection is maintained by the Manatee Rare Fruit Council, a local nonprofit devoted to supporting home growers of tropical fruit in the Suncoast region. Council members will guide the tour, which requires about a half-mile of easy walking, and answer questions about the collection and about tropical fruit horticulture. This is a family-friendly event and a wonderful opportunity to experience a little-known treasure right here in Bradenton.
Palma Sola Botanical Park is maintained by a private nonprofit foundation and is open to the public. It is available for weddings and other events.
