Sarasota County has been selected as the official North American host community for World Environment Day 2014, which will take place this year on June 5th. Lee Hayes Byron, Director of Sustainability for Sarasota County, Tim Rumage, Professor of Environmental Studies at Ringling College of Art and Design, and Tess Cieux with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), will all be in the studio during the first half of the show to promote the festivities.

Second Half

In the second half, we will hear from Tia Silvasy, one of the co-founders of the Florida Permaculture Convergence and a member of its Organizing Committee. Their 2nd annual event will commence the following day, on Friday, May 2nd, and run through Sunday, May 4th at the h.e.a.r.t.
